...two sides of the human brain...
Author: KhEyCeE
After I took the test, I felt quite curious to learn more about human brain in relation to its learning capabilities. According to Hilary Craig, an educational consultant specializing in giving support for people who have learning problems, a person can be left-brained or right-brained or both.
1. Left-brained - They are people who think analytically, logically, and sequentially which makes them good at school wherein they are less likely to encounter difficulties. They learn their lessons faster than right-brained people. They are more likely to succeed in academic tests. Left-brained kids are also known to be highly proficient in mathematics and some sees something fun with experimenting and writing scientific reports. They can even do it with their eyes closed. They are auditory learners which makes them comprehend and analyze what they hear. Simply amazing!
2. Right-brained - People who have wide imagination and comprehensive creativity belong to this group. They are visual learners. They learn by pictures or images. They are also emotional and mostly reliable in their instincts. For right-brained kids, they are slow in learning how to count and memorize the order of the days of the week and for the grown-ups, they have difficulty putting things in order. Sometimes, they don't like going to school. However, their ability to "see the big picture" does not exempt them from being successful. Actually, most of our brilliant people are right-brained because of their vivid and creative ideas. Incredibly unique indeed!
3. Left-Right-brained - They are people who are in equilibrium of both sides. They are right-brained in a sense that their thinking is so flexible and also put in order by their left brain. They are able to meet the demands of their school at the same time not losing their confidence in their own ideas.
Like what the author said, we just have to know more about how we learn. May we be left- or right-brained or both, what's important is to appreciate our strengths and what we can do and try to enhance it and not to focus on our weaknesses. We can all be successful in our own ways by treasuring our own given gifts and talents. In fact, they both compliment each other in a way that left-brained needs the ideas of the creative ones and vice versa, the right-brained needs the logical ones to put things in order. Be just thankful for what you have!
