stupidity...

Yesterday afternoon, my friend, Paul, came over my house so we can finish together our CISCO case study. After working on it, I invited him to play badminton. I've been craving for it since last Friday. We played just outside our house. After a little while, I suggested to transfer to the basketball court near the river since the place is more convenient for us to play badminton. I went back to close the doors. Then, we went to the said court. Unfortunately, some boys are playing basketball. So, we had no choice but to go back. We played again for how many minutes outside. Then, we stopped given that we were already both tired and it was getting dark also. We planned to watch a movie instead. I called my cousin, MC, to open the door for us. But there's no answer. So, I called her sister, QC. I kept calling them until I realized that they were not upstairs. All along, I thought they were just there. But the lights upstairs were turned off implying that nobody's home. I was so stupid to think they were still in the house. No one's home. No one's gonna open the door for us. And I don't have any keys. "What to do?" I was kind of panicking that moment. Thoughts kept running through my head. I knew when mama, Uncle Fred, and the kids came back, they would really scold me. Paul kept saying, "ikaw na jud na". Still, he remained calm. I thought of ways to get in. The thing was that there were grills in every windows. And it's hard to just open it up. Paul said that maybe he could reached the door knob from the window pane (which is quite near to it). The thing again was that it was locked. But we really tried to remove a jalousie from the window. I couldn't explain how it all happened but we did it. Large drips of sweat was already falling down my forehead. I was hoping Paul could reach the door knob. But he didn't. Then, they arrived. I said to myself, "I'm doomed. I'm dead". Mama was flabbergasted to see both of us outside. Then, I explained that I accidentally closed the door thinking that MC and QC were just upstairs. To my relief, Uncle Fred brought his keys. And Mama also had hidden some keys in a pot in case of emergencies like this. They didn't scold me. Instead, they just laughed at me. I was really so happy. I said sorry to Paul for bringing him into this kind of trouble. He said that it was just fine with him. That made me happier. But I really do admit I had been really stupid. At least, the house had been safe from unwelcomed guests. Despite of my stupidity, I learned a lesson. Always make sure somebody's home or you brought your key before you lock the doors. This is gonna be one of my funny unforgettable experiences. Haha...
